Weekly Weigh-in

No loss to report this week. I have been eating a little better but not much and exercise part of the plan has been a no go this week.

After Christmas vacation I am going to sign up at the gym and limit my work week to under 50 hours so I can have time to go. I would just go sign up now but with work being crazy till the end of the year and the Florida trip coming up I just would not go…

Wednesday Weigh-in

I am back to report another 1lb loss this week. I have been slipping on my diet a little, by no means am I back to my old way. It’s just that I have been eating more red meat than I would like and less veggies than I should be. If I show a loss next week I will be blown away. There is know way I am going to cook a bunch of wonderful food and not enjoy it you are crazy. Maybe I will hike and bike this weekend…

Weight in day is here again, I was a little nervous about what the scale would say after the big game and big beer dinner.

So not bad, a loss is a loss…
It is starting to get cold here in New England. The day time high has not been reaching 40. I think I am going to get a membership at the gym for the winter and maybe start the couch to 5K program

Weigh-in Wednesday

Wednesday is my weight-in day. When dieting it’s a good idea to have a set time and day once. a week to track your progress. I do this Wednesday morning after I get out of the shower and dry off. Right now I just track weight but in the future I want to add a few measurements to be tracked.

lose a pound a week…

I read a post about hiking to lose weight it basicaly said burn 3500 calories and you lose a pound.  There is more to it than that.  Your body burns calories no matter what you are doing; sleeping, eating, running, driving, ect.  The number of calories burnt at rest varies person to person but you can calculate it roughly.  First you have to caluclate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR measurements are typically taken in a darkened room upon waking after 8 hours of sleep; 12 hours of fasting to ensure that the digestive system is inactive; and with the subject resting in a reclining position.) to calaulate your BMR use the following formula.
