Outdoor Cooking Performance

This camping cook set is made with thin materials to save on weight. The downside is that it doesn’t cook food as well as sets made with thicker materials. Still, the Sea to Summit Alpha set is a good compromise because it is made with aluminum which conducts heat better than other materials. The anodized coating is also more durable and effective than other brands.

Cookware Packability

The Alpha comes with two pots, each with a lid and handle, two deep plates, two insulated mugs, and a dish towel. The handle of the outermost pot seals everything inside, making for a rattle-free trip.

Durability and Weight

The Sea To Summit Alpha is a great choice for those looking for a lightweight and durable cookset. Though it may dent more easily than other sets, the anodized coating is tough and will last long.

Usability and packing

The Alpha Set 2.2 is a great camping pot because it has a handle system that is secure and easy to use. The handle is also hinged as a cook pot handle or a lid lock. The only downside is that the insulated mugs must be disassembled to nest completely inside the pot.

PROS: REASONS TO BUY

– Lightweight, compact, and versatile bowls

– Ergonomic mugs

– Great locking handles

The Alpha comes with two pots, each with a lid and handle, two deep plates, two insulated mugs, and a dish towel. The handle of the outermost pot seals everything inside, making for a rattle-free trip.

Cons: REASONS TO AVOID

The lid on the Alpha Pot Set doesn’t fit as securely as the lid on the smaller pot.

The Sea To Summit Pivot-Lock pan lid is a bit strange at first, but it’s handy once you get used to it. The handle rotates out from the side and then locks in place with a small catch. When stowed, the handle keeps the lid firmly on the pan, preventing any rattling. The catch mechanism can be a bit fiddly, but it’s really easy to use once you get used to it. I think my ape-like sensibilities might be to blame.

Our Verdict:

The Sea to Summit Alpha Pot Set 2.2 is a quality, space-efficient, lightweight set of pots and pans. It will replace my current titanium pots, and 100% yes, I would recommend it to others. The pots are a little pricey, but they are made to last and offer great value compared to titanium equivalents.
